meet our team
Currently we operate with 6 staff per day, exceeding the standard requirements. Our small team play a large part in creating the bubbly, cheerful and loving environment for which we are known. Staffing ratios and qualifications are governed by Statutory Requirements. The staff at Avalon Beach House Pre School are trained and experienced in caring for children. They are responsible for the care & education your children are given during the day and programming for their individual needs. We have a fabulous team at Avalon Beach House Pre School consisting of:
For the past 20 years Melinda has been the Director and Licensee here at Avalon Beach House Pre School. She first began her career in childcare over 30 years ago when she opened, owned and operated Castle Hill Babysitting Agency, which was at the time the largest babysitting agency in Sydney.
Melinda has a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching (Birth to 5 years), a Certificate III in Children’s Services and a Diploma of Children’s Services. Before Melinda opened ABHPS, she also completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology/Criminology).
Kim joined the ABHPS Team 9 years ago, and is the Educational Leader here at ABHPS, and also our School Readiness Program Educator. She has a Certificate III in Children’s Services and Diploma of Children’s Services.
Kim loves to stay active in her free time, she is a children’s swimming coach and hapkido instructor. Kims love for health and fitness is featured throughout our programming.
Caroline is the educator for our 3 – 4 year old children, preparing them with all the fundamental skills they need before moving onto our School Readiness Program.
Caroline joined our team in 2020, she has a Certificate III in Children’s Services and is also our Spanish Teacher. She runs a fantastic program for the children teaching them basic Spanish words and phrases, including how to count to 20 and all of the primary colours.
Jenjarla is our 2-3 year old educator, she creates a loving, warm and fun environment full of child lead, play based learning. Jen joined our team 1 year ago, and has a Certificate III in Children’s Services.
Her daily learning routine helps ease first time children into childcare, whilst teaching them foundational and crucial gross and fine motor skills. Jenjarla also heavily features our ‘You Can Do It’ program in her daily routine, teaching the children all about social-emotional awareness.
Moo is our second 2-3 year old educator, she joined our team in 2022, has a Certificate III in Children’s Services and co-teaches our littlest Avalon Beach House Pre School kiddies.
Moo is fluent in Thai, and this year has launched our ‘learning to speak Thai program’. We can’t wait to watch that evolve and progress as the year continues. Before moving to Australia Moo was a Registered Nurse and is also our First Aid Officer.
