Every day at Avalon Beach House Preschool is filled with play, learning, and real-world adventures. We follow children’s curiosity, nurture their friendships, and gently guide their growth so they feel safe, confident, and ready to take on the world.
Children of different ages learn and play side by side just like they would in a family. Younger ones gain confidence by watching older peers, while older children build empathy and leadership by guiding and helping others. This kind of mixed-age play builds strong bonds, encourages language and imagination, and nurtures each child’s sense of belonging. Our educators tailor experiences to meet each child where they are, offering just the right balance of challenge and support.
Our day follows a gentle rhythm – structured enough to feel safe, flexible enough to follow each child’s lead.
The day begins with a welcoming space for free play. We then gather together to acknowledge Indigenous culture, share stories, and set a joyful tone for the day.
A nourishing snack and gentle chats help children tune into how they’re feeling, supported by the Zones of Regulation.
Children explore, create, and learn supported by our educators through both guided and self-directed activities.
Children are invited to eat in smaller groups, helping them stay in tune with their own needs and routines.
Whether it’s a nap, a book, or some quiet play, children take the time they need to recharge at their own pace.
Hands-on experiences continue with small group activities, open-ended play, storytelling, and exploration.
The day ends gently, with calming play and connection as children get ready to head home.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
