Our philosophy

At Avalon Beach House Preschool, learning feels like an everyday adventure. Whether it’s building castles in the sandpit, spotting insects in the park, or chatting with the local grocer, we believe the magic of childhood lives in the little moments. Every child is a curious explorer, and we’re here to guide them with care, laughter, and heart. Our play-based, nature-inspired approach helps children grow socially, emotionally, and academically, gently preparing them for school. It’s a place where friendships grow, imaginations thrive, and childhood is cherished.

Our story

For over 40 years, Avalon Beach House Preschool has been a cherished part of the local community – a boutique, family owned centre where children feel right at home. Our nurturing educators partner with families to create a warm, playful space where little learners thrive. We believe in giving back through local events and nature outings and in making every day joyful, meaningful, and filled with discovery, connection, and laughter.

DIRECTOR
Avalon Beach House Preschool

Hello!

I’m Christie, Director at Avalon Beach House Preschool. Since 2023, I’ve had the absolute joy of working in this beautiful pocket of Avalon, where nature, laughter and learning come together every day. I hold a Bachelor of Primary Education and am currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood, driven by my passion for child development and lifelong learning.
I’ve taught across Australia and the UK, and have explored early childhood education internationally from Italy’s Reggio Emilia approach to the outdoor classrooms of Icelandic forest schools. These experiences have shaped my love for nature-based learning, and you’ll often find me puddle-jumping in the rain, searching for insects with a field guide, or quietly watching ducklings by the creek. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this warm, close-knit community. I work alongside our dedicated team to support every child and family and my door is always open for a chat or a story.
