Local Business Awards
In 2012, Avalon Beach House Pre School won outstanding childcare service in the Northern Beaches local business awards. We have also been selected as a finalist in the Northern Beaches local business awards for 5 years running – 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019. ABHPS was also selected as a finalist in the Child Care Centre category in the 2013 Australian Small Business Champion Awards.
Director of the Year
Avalon Beach House Pre School was recognised during the Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards, centre owner Melinda Nolan, was nominated for Director of the Year. In 2013 Melinda was also nominated and a finalist in the Northern Beaches Outstanding Business Person of The Year Awards.
Community Engagement
Community is the heart and soul of Avalon, and we love nothing more than getting to help and engage with our local community. From bake sales, and hosting can drives, to putting on disco dance parties, visiting the Red Cross ladies with sweet treats and donations, or saying hello to the local Post Office team when dropping off our letters to Santa and the Easter Bunny – if there is anyway we can engage and help our community ABHPS will be there.
Past Students
Creating long lasting joy filled memories of Pre School is our Director Melinda’s number one goal, so when we get visits from old students all grown up, the smiles on our faces just cannot be wiped off! The main way our old students re-connect with us is through the Year 10 work experience program, but we regularly have old students pop in to say hello too! Other past students have come back to read stories and sing songs to the children, film their major work projects for Film School, and we have even had a few grown up bubbas end up working here full time too!
